Edina Tordai is a lawyer, mediator, and human rights trainer. Her work is defined by a strong commitment to combating discrimination and protecting minority rights, with a particular focus on Roma rights and children’s rights. She earned her law degree from the University of Debrecen in 2008, passed the Hungarian Bar Exam, and is currently a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of Law, University of Pécs.
She previously worked at the Office of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, supporting the Deputy Commissioner for National Minorities as a Senior Legal Advisor, and earlier at the Secretariat of the Decade of Roma Inclusion Program, the European Roma Rights Centre, and the Mayor’s Office of Hatvan. As a Child Protection Officer, she contributed to UNICEF’s Regional Office Ukraine Refugee Response Program.
As an independent expert, she regularly collaborates with international organizations as a trainer, facilitator, and consultant, including with the Council of Europe and the OSCE. She has also gained experience in the private sector in public affairs and quality assurance. She is a member of the Hungarian Civil Coalition for the Rights of the Child. Throughout her career, her work has been guided by a commitment to promoting the rights of vulnerable communities. Edina carries out her professional work in both English and Hungarian.
