Following extensive preparatory work and a series of community consultations, the first printed publication documenting the history of the Roma movement in Hungary up to 1994 was published in 2026.

The publication ultimately brought together a broader group of experts than originally envisaged, with twelve Roma experts contributing to its development. A series of accompanying video materials was also produced and can be accessed via QR codes included in the publication.

The book launch of The History of the Roma Movement in Hungary: From Its Beginnings to 1994 took place on 3 July 2026 at Romano Kher in Budapest.
