International Minority Rights and Prospects for African Participation

TLI staff members were honoured to participate in a workshop on "International Minority Rights and Prospects for African Participation" in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The workshop was organized jointly with the Center for Human Rights, Addis Ababa University with financial support from the Heinrich Böll Stiftung, Horn of Africa.
TLI's Director, Anna-Mária Bíró, and Programme Manager for the Human Rights of Minorities, Marcus Oda, gave presentations on the international minority protection regime. TLI also invited Dr. David Keane (City University Dublin) to present his TLI-sponsored research on the minority rights jurisprudence of UN treaty bodies.
The workshop served as an opportunity to officially launched TLI's handbook on the "Minority Rights Jurisprudence of the UN Human Rights Treaty Bodies", which was authored by Dr. Keane. The handbook is now available on TLI's website: https://shorturl.at/wxvE0!
